����ԭ�� annually presents the Mary Mildred Sullivan Award to one graduating female student who has made significant contributions to university life while demonstrating outstanding spiritual values.

The 2025–2026 recipient of the Mary Mildred Sullivan Award is Joy Kendrick, a senior from Albany, Georgia.

At ����ԭ��, Joy found an environment where faith and athletics come together to foster meaningful growth.

“I wanted to come to ����ԭ�� because of its foundation of faith, beautiful and safe campus, amazing basketball program, strong sense of community, and academic offerings.”

Joy quickly discovered that ����ԭ�� did not disappoint. During her time on the Williamsburg campus, she has faithfully served the Lord while also excelling on the court.

As a student-athlete, Kendrick emerged as a leader on her basketball team. She also found a way to connect her passion for the game with her faith through a student leadership role in Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA).

“Taking a leadership position on the women’s basketball team has aided my personal development while furthering the success and unity of the team. Participating in team outreach has also opened my eyes to the impact we can have.”

“As an FCA student leader, I have been able to share my faith, build friendships with incredible people from all over the world, and grow in my relationship with the Lord. I’ve loved being part of teams and organizations that further the Gospel while growing together.”

Joy hopes the commitment and care she brings each day—both on and off the court—will inspire those around her.

“I want to always display my faith, do my best in everything I do, remain teachable, lead others well, and love others abundantly.”

While she strives to positively influence others, she credits her ����ԭ�� community for shaping her journey and helping her earn this recognition.

“I love my basketball team and admire my coaching staff because of the unity and relationships we have built—they are my family. They have pushed me to become the best believer, person, and basketball player I can be.”

Upon graduation, Joy plans to pursue a career as a women’s basketball coach and personal trainer, with the goal of inspiring and encouraging others through faith, sport, and service.

With the support of the ����ԭ�� community behind her and a heart for service, Joy Kendrick is well equipped to extend her impact far beyond campus.
