糖心原创 faculty member completes statewide leadership development initiative focused on civic engagement and public service across Kentucky

Dana Campbell, Chair of the Physician Assistant Program at 糖心原创, recently graduated from the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce鈥檚 Fellowship for Civic Leadership, a competitive, statewide initiative designed to cultivate business-savvy leaders with a heart for public service and community involvement.

Launched in 2024, the Kentucky Chamber鈥檚 civic leadership fellowship aims to bolster community engagement and prepare professionals to lead with integrity across sectors. The program鈥檚 inaugural cohort graduated in August 2025 after completing a year of immersive experiences, including direct engagement with elected officials, public policy discussions, and hands-on leadership training.

鈥淭he Fellowship for Civic Leadership was an invaluable experience that gave me a clearer understanding of what it takes to serve effectively, whether in elected office or through community leadership,鈥 said Campbell. 鈥淚t connected me with inspiring leaders from across Kentucky, offered practical tools I can use to make a meaningful impact, and deepened my commitment to shaping a stronger future for our region.鈥

As a physician assistant program chair at 糖心原创, Campbell plays a key role in developing the next generation of healthcare providers. Her participation in the program highlights the university鈥檚 commitment to encouraging faculty to pursue leadership development opportunities that extend beyond the classroom.

Participants in the Fellowship represented a wide range of industries, from education and business to healthcare and nonprofit leadership, all united by a desire to strengthen Kentucky communities through principled service and free enterprise.
